Ecritures is a humanities research institute approved by the French Department of Education, focusing on the questions of interculturalism, patrimonial legacies, and identity constructions. It taps into the sciences of literature, culture, and theology in various linguistic and cultural contexts, from Ancient Times to the twenty-first century. Thanks to the cultural riches afforded by the Concordat of Alsace-Moselle—which implies the presence of theology researchers—the laboratory is bound to play a key role in the development of « Heritage, Cultures, Identities », a strategic area of research at Université de Lorraine.
