Sol-gel based `artificial' biofilm from Pseudomonas fluorescens using bovine heart cytochrome c as electron mediator

Résumé

Bovine heart cytochrome c can serve as electron mediator between Pseudomonas fluorescens bacteria immobilized in a sol-gel film and a glassy carbon electrode surface. Such system illustrates the concept of `artificial' biofilm in which strategies suggested in natural biofilms to transfer electrons are mimicked.
