Comment améliorer la compréhension de l'entretien d'annonce de diagnostics médicaux sérieux

Abstract : This paper deals with patient-physician consultations in contexts of announcements of serious medical diagnoses. It presents research backed by the French “Ligue Contre le Cancer”. The goal was to design a Web product which is essentially aimed at future physicians. The product design process was embedded in ergonomic psychology. Using a presentation of the design process, we show how an ergonomic psychology stance allowed us to design a specific product; whilst classical training focuses on physicians’ practices and uses an injunctive format, we employ a descriptive format and present the collective activity which takes place during consultations, from different points of view. In order to design the web product content, we mainly used findings from discourse analyses. We used role-playing to collect this corpus (patient-physician consultations relating to serious medical diagnoses in simulated situations). The theoretical-methodological framework allowed us to examine the consultations from different angles. The Web product provides unique content in accordance with medical recommendations (behavioral prescriptions).
