Au-milieu, Maxcem Elite® (Kerr) {5}, En bas, SmartCem 2® (Dentspy) {6}. 4.2.4.1.3 Le nettoyage/décontamination de surface La surface amélo-dentinaire subit un second nettoyage afin d'éliminer le gel d'essai hydrosoluble ou d'éventuel résidus de ciment provisoire. Cette décontamination est obtenue à l'aide d'un appareil ultrasonique ou d'un disque abrasif à faible vitesse qui élimine les résidus de ciment visibles, puis par la réalisation d'un microsablage, particules d'alumine de 25 à 50 µm à 2 ou 3 bars : Cojet® (3M ESPE)) ou par le passage de la ponce sur une cupule en silicone souple afin d'obtenir une surface propre et améliorer l'ancrage mécanique (fig.59) (fig.60)

L. Résultats-À-6, 5 ans montrent un taux important d'échec mais variable selon les opérateurs (taux d'échec plus important lorsque le praticien était un étudiant) Les échecs sont plus nombreux lorsque les facettes céramiques ont été collées sur des restaurations en composites pré-existantes, 1997.

Peumans, ont réalisé une étude concernant 87 facettes céramiques posées par un unique opérateur durant une période de 5 ans Les critères évalués étaient l'esthétique, l'adaptation marginale, la vitalité pulpaire, le taux de fracture et la satisfaction des patients. Les résultats montrent que 93% des facettes ont été jugées cliniquement acceptable sans nécessité de ré-intervention. 7% des facettes présentaient un problème cliniquement inacceptable comme l'apparition de carie secondaire, une fracture de la céramique

. Kihn, ont réalisé une étude concernant 59 facettes céramiques traitées par un unique praticien Après une période de 48 mois, l'indice de plaque et l'indice gingival ont été observés. Les résultats montrent que la coloration des facettes, ainsi que leur adaptation marginale ont été jugées cliniquement acceptables. Aucune apparition de carie secondaire et de sensibilité post-opératoires ont été rapportées, 1998.

. La-présence-d, un hiatus due à un mauvais positionnement de la facette lors de l'étape de collage accentuera ce phénomène. La présence de résidus de composite de collage non éliminé lors de l'étape du collage reste également une source d'échec fréquente du point de vue esthétique

. Si-la-technique, les contraintes internes se manifestent par une fissure ou par un éclat de céramique. Différentes causes comme un choc iatrogène, un défaut de préparation (présence d'angle de vif), présence de la limite localisée dans la concavité palatine, non respect des règles occlusales? peuvent aboutir à des fractures cohésives, 2005.
