L'expédition de Lapérouse

Abstract : Jean-François de Galaup, Count Lapérouse, is an emblematic figure of the Tarn department and France of the eighteenth century. He marked the history of the kingdom at the end of the century in the military, scientific and philosophical domains. Coming from a family of knights, he entered history under the name Lapérouse after King Louis XVI called him "Count Lapérouse". The following study is however not intended to be exhaustive. Its purpose is to present the man, his expedition and the immediate interests he has aroused thereafter.
