La construction de l’usager dans une organisation complexe - Le cas des projets personnalisés dans un établissement médico-social

Abstract : A stream of research is developing in marketing about how people with disabilities behave as consumers (Dubost, 2018). However, severe disability can make it difficult to collect data using classic techniques such as interviews or questionaires, and studies tend to neglect this particular subgroup of consumers. Residential care homes, where people live on an almost permanent basis, offer an opportunity for a field of research that can alleviate this issue. Therefore our research seeks to study how services are designed in such homes in order to respond to this specific group of consumers’ needs. To do so, we will collect data in a residential care home for adults with disabilities (Foyer d’accueil médicalisé) located in the French Grand Est region. It will allow us to show how management tools are implemented and how they integrate the interests and preferences of several stakeholders. We will also identify how discrepancies form between adults’ needs as identified by care workers and professionals, and the responses that are formulated.
