Détermination des constantes cinétiques de Acidithiobacillus caldus par suivis de cultures en bioréacteur, en vue de la modélisation du procédé de biolixiviation

Abstract : Bioleaching consists of reuptake of metals of interest (gold, cobalt…) thanks to microorganisms. It’s an hopeful method which represents an economical and ecological challenge. In order to optimize processes, it’s necessary to create mathematical models to understand phenomena of interest. Concerning the kinetics part of a model, which is in progress at our laboratory, it’s necessary to determine the kinetic data of common bioleaching bacteria, like the growth rate μ, used for one of the main kinetic laws, Monod’s equation. During this internship, those of Acidithiobacillus caldus, of which little data are known in the literature, will be experimentally determined thanks to the monitoring of stirred tank reactor cultures at different substrate concentrations. This will be made thanks to cell counts and probes. It will be possible to conclude about the influence of substrate concentration on the metabolism of the bacteria.
