Le passage de la vie à la mort dans les Andes péruviennes : aux origines du condenado

Abstract : This paper looks at the conception of death of the Ancient Peruvians which introduced no moral stake. On this area, the Catholic preaching which stressed alternative Heaven/Hell, illustrated in the wall fresco of the church of Andahuaylillas, but which especially put the emphasis on Hell, caused big confusion which the autochthonous popular tales dramatize the character of the condenado, populations could not include in its totality. The undead who allows to solve contradictions because he purges in this world the transgressions which he made during his existence.
