La promotion du travail artistique par le cinéma : image de l’artiste et “travail de l’image”

Abstract : The exploration of the different ways movies represent the work of the artist helps us to recognize the ambivalence of the vision of the artist at work given by ilm makers. The representation of the work of the artist by the movies goes from an effort to desacralize the work of the artist to the celebration of the artist by the artist, the film maker staging himself as an artist. Thus the promotion of the “magic of the artist” (as theorized by Kris and Kurz) can easily be observed even in the films of directors eager to reject the research of art for art's sake
