Evaluation et Pilotage des flux manufacturiers : réflexions et propositions

Abstract : This research work deals with the problematic of controlling the physical flow in the manufacturing systems. Firstly, it presents reflections and an analysis of issues dealing with flows in general. Two specific elements are discussed: the nature and the observation scale of flows. Secondly, two approaches of flow control are presented: the first, which is the classic one, is about controlling the flow by the activities and the second one, more recent, is about controlling the flow by the product. Accordingly, we propose an approach positioned within the two preceding approaches. The bibliographical study exposes the current definitions and general principles used for flow study. Two particular approaches for flow study are detailed: the energy approach and the traffic theory. Starting from these approaches basics, a list of variables is proposed to qualify a flow on three different levels; which are considered as complementary (the product in flow, the flow s support and the flow itself). Afterwards, propositions of various levels are then made. The first focuses on the concepts and variables definitions to qualify a heterogeneous discrete objects flow. The second is an adaptation of Paynter s tetrahedron to manufacturing flows. Finally, a macro-model simulation of a manufacturing flow is done. This simulation allowed us to partially validate the proposed and discussed concepts.
