Qualités et interprétation du profil de santé de duke pour mesurer la qualité de vie en France et au Vietnam

Abstract : The study was aimed at validating the Duke Health Profile-Adolescent version (DHP-A) in French and in Vietnamese, identifying factors associated with HRQOL in Vietnamese adult and adolescent, to facilitate data interpretation of this instrument. Results : the DHP-A, studied in 618 teenagers showed a good discriminative ability and a reliability equivalent to that for the adult version (lntraclass correlation coefficient ICC = 0.68-0.72). Cross-cultural adaptation of DHP-A to Vietnamese was conducted in four steps similar with the French one. The Vietnamese DHP-A, studied in a sample of 1408 teenagers of Hochiminh-ville, presented satisfactory internal consistency (Cronbach's [alpha] = 0.87-0.92). Reproducibility assessed over a 4 weeks interval by test-retest was good (ICC=O.7-0.8). Tobacco and drugs consumption behaviors were the most important determinants in this group. ln an other study of HRQOL in 1003 adults of the Hochiminh-city, we showed that chronic conditions, family economic status, physical activities had important role in adults. We found also that employment status played a social support role in men and that combination of ageing and morbidities had a very deleterious effect on "physical health". Conclusion : this study presents a new approach of HRQOL measurement, provides for the first time an adapted and validated instrument in Vietnam, , documents its properties and gives elements for its interpretation. This provides numerous perspectives in research and in public health.
