Prise de décision et intelligence artificielle dans les sports d'opposition : exemple de la phase de service-retour de service en tennis

Abstract : Decision making in contest has already been subject to numerous studies assorted with miscellaneous approaches. The originality consists in our will to conceive a pluridimensional analysis of the decision process structure. The procedure adopted is conform to artificial intelligence. We opted for tennis as a ground. The goal to achieve is to single out the concepts and their own active linkage operated by a tennis expert. Two categories of knowledge are aroused: the knowledge of facts (field of facts) and the knowledge of rules structures along with the functioning system (field of knowledge). Such data are supposed to guide not predeterminate functions but the outcome process. This modelling achievement lets us elaborate an explanatory system of decision making in the phase serve-return of serve. The main goal is to produce, for each rally, a prediction of the strategy adapted to the analysed situation, of the aimed mark and of the spin used. A coefficient of probability given in percentage is attributed to these predictions. One of the main characteristics of this system is found in its ability to "learn" the real player's behavior thanks to a structure supervising events in their temporality. Named L.I.F.T (Logique Informatique pour la Formalisation des Connaissances en Tennis), this model is going along with a logical program simulating an inference process managing a field of knowledge.
