Multi-scale approach for conduction heat transfer: one- and two-equation models

Abstract

A rigorous derivation of generalized one- and two-equation models for conduction heat transfer in a porous medium with prescribed homogeneous and heterogeneous heat sources is proposed. The models are derived within the framework of homogenization applied to upscale the energy transfer in a two-phase periodic system.
