Instabilité thermo-convective de Rayleigh-Bénard pour des fluides rhéofluidifiants thermodépendants

Abstract : We present a linear and a weakly non-linear analysis of Rayleigh-Bénard thermo-convective instabilities for shear-thinning fluids with thermo-dependent viscosity. Our objective is to study the influence of the nonlinear variation of the viscosity with the shear rate and the thermo-dependency of the rheological parameters on the nature of the bifurcation and on the competition between different convection patterns. This study complements the work of Bouteraa et al. [1] where the temperature dependence of the viscosity has not been taken into account. In this study, we adopt the Carreau model with an exponential temperature dependence of µ(T).
