Suivi sur une année de la biodiversité microbienne dans les bioaerosols émis dans un centre de tri des déchets

Abstract : The waste sorting plants and the amount of waste which they treated increased in France. Because of the type of activity, the workers are exposed to bioaerosols which can induce adverse health effects. The composition of these bioaerosols is poorly studied. In the study, bioaerosols were collected in a French waste sorting plant during a year. The microbial biodiversity was assessed by high-throughput sequencing. An important microbial community could be observed with a dominance of Firmicutes and Proteobacteria for bacterial phyla and Ascomycota and Basidiomycota for fungal phyla. The statistical analysis highlighted a different composition between occupational bioaerosols and non-exposed reference bioaerosols. Furthermore, the fungal biodiversity seemed to be impacted by the moment (season or month) of the sampling. To improve this first information, further studies are needed to get a better understanding of the variation of the microbial biodiversity.
