Evaluation psychométrique du comportement alimentaire au cours d'un traitement diététique de l'obésité: à propos de 145 observations

Abstract : Assure a long term weight loss in obesity is always difficult.ln the ftrst part, the author presents recent knowledge about obesity, eatingdisorder and methods how to evalue eating behaviour.ln the second part, are related the results of a longitudinal study of 145 obesesubjects following a weight loss treatment at a University Hospital.The participants were followed by a dietician for 3 months, 6 to 9 months ormore than 10 months.The aims of this study is to evaluate the effects of the various eatingbehaviour on weight loss, while following a diet program.The Dutch Eating Behaviour Questionnaire (D.E.B.Q.) is used to evaluatethree components of eating behaviour : emotional eating, external eating andcognitive restraint. Every subjects participating ftlled out two D.E.B.Q. : one atthe beginning and one at the end of the study. In addition to D.E.B.Q., age,sex, Body Masse Index (BMI) and weight fluctuation were recorded.Finally, the author discusses the results. Especially the cognitive restraint whois the most important determinant for successful weight loss. Emotional eatingis the other determinant.
