Etude des dégoûts et des comportements alimentaires chez les patients obèses en Lorraine : expérience du Centre médico-diététique de l'Alumnat

Abstract : Introduction : Obesity is a major problem of public health. Few external factors like food disgusts in the outbreak of obesity have been searched. Material and method : We realized a retrospective study on 299 obese adults patients (156 women, 143 men) of the medical dietary center of Alumnat in Moselle, to compare disgusts and food habits of two populations of 2030 and 50-60 years old. Results : This study showed an average of 26,2 +-26 disgusts per person in this obese population, and more in the younger population (20-30 years old). There were more disgusts for the family of Meats-Fishes-Eggs (43,9%) and for Fruits and Vegetables (34,8%). We can observe that these disgusts are differently represented among the age. Taste preferences are mainly on sweet and salty but with dissimilarity among ages and genders of the population. Conclusion : These results strengthen the importance of nutritional education. It seems important to take into account food disgusts and taste preferences (acid, bitter, sweet, salt y) of patients in order to prevent and handle obesity.
