Relations médecine hospitalière - médecine de ville dans le cadre du retour à domicile de patients cancéreux: enquète auprès des médecins généralistes ; à propos de 30 dossiers

Abstract : To assess the general practitioners' view about the homecoming of cancer patients, we realized an opinion survey. This survey took place from may to September 2000. It concerned 30 general practitioners, whose patients were leaving the cancer center, with diminishing self sufficiency, compared to the period before hospitaüzation. A questionnaire, intended to their family physician, was given to the patients. To answer the questionnaire, we phoned the general practitioners. We studied, through the çeneral practitioner's view, the communication between hospltalists and family physicians, and the coordinationproblems revealed by the return home of cancer patients, becoming less self-sufficient. We propose solutions to improve the general practitioner's knowledge about home care. We also show how technological progresses can help protessionals' communication, and so improve coordination about continuity of patient care.
