Informatisation des médecins généralistes : qu'en pensent les patients ? Enquête auprès de 150 patients au sein de trois cabinets médicaux informatisés

Abstract : French Physicians are more and more numerous to use computers for their practice of medicine. Few studies have focused on what patients think of the computerization of their general practitioner. The aim of our study was to obtain feedback from patients about this technological development in the service of medicine. We have conducted a survey of 150 patients in three general practices in Lorraine (East of France) in 2009. The computer appears primarily as a working tool for the general practitioner (GP). Patients are satisfied with the way their GP uses his computer. They feel better attended and the relationship between doctor and patient does not seem impaired. They have some concerns about the protection of computerized personal data.
