Dysfonctions sexuelles sous traitement substitutif opiacé par méthadone : étude clinique

Abstract : Background : The morbimortality associated with heroin addiction is a major public health problem. Methadone maintenance treatment (MMT) allows a significant reduction in heroin use and associated risks. Sexual dysfunctions often occur in MMT and their occurrence may affect compliance and promote relapse. Objective: To evaluate the impact of methadone treatment on the occurrence or worsening of sexual dysfunction. Methodology : We conduct a prospective epidemiological, cohort and open study. Patients were recruited from four centers in addiction care in Moselle. 30 heroin addicts are included on a voluntary basis during the establishment of MMT. They complement at baseline and 2 visits at 3 and 6 months, the Arizona Sexual Experience Scale and the quality of life scale SF-12. Intermediate Results: Among heroin addicts, sexual desire is the most affected field while the capacity of physical arousal seems better preserved. Continuation of the study for the revaluation of patients and increased recruitment could better understand sexual dysfunction in MMT.
