Négligence spatiale unilatérale gauche, troubles cliniques et des espaces péri-corporel et extracorporel : effet d’un protocole de stimulations proprioceptives par vibration au niveau cervical

Abstract : Unilateral spatial neglect (U.S.N) is defined by the inability to respond to stimuli that occur controlateral to the damaged hemisphere. Left neglect, which is the most common, is characterized by a lesion of the right hemisphere. Most of the authors consider that this condition is a spatial cognition disorder specific for each space of the neglect patient. This study focuses on the clinical disorders, personal space disorders (experimentally assessed using pointing movements made “straight ahead”) and extra-personal space disorders shown while driving a wheelchair. This study has 2 aims : (1) studying the effect of a proprioceptive stimulation protocol via the vibration applied in the left trapezius on the clinical evaluation of the USN, on the perceptual impairments of the personal space and of the extra-personal space in the left neglect patients. (2) : assessing the persistence of the effects produced. The main results showed that the established protocol reduces disorders in the subjective estimation of the “straight ahead” up to 24 hours after completion of stimulation on some patients. In addition, we have seen that the vibration has effects on the personal space, but not on the extrapersonal space.
