Impact d’un mélange d’espèce fixatrice/non fixatrice d’azote (robinier/peuplier) sur l’allocation du carbone chez le peuplier dans une plantation à courte rotation

Abstract : The short rotation coppice (SRC) aimed to product a large amount of woody biomass thanks to use fast growing species. In order to limit the using of several polluants, the introduction of a nitrogen fixing specie (NFS) in a short rotation coppice, could be improved the production of these systems. Thus, our objective is to assess whether the introduction of robinia in a short rotation coppice of poplar, leads to changes on carbon allocation in poplar. The nitrates soil content is enhanced in robinia monocultures. But the nitrogen soil content isn’t different between the mixture and the poplar monoculture, unlike in global quantity in the tree. It is comes from the improvement of poplar biomass in mixture. The radial growth of poplar is enhanced too in mixture, unlike in the apical growth that isn’t different between the two conditions. This highlights an improvement of the ramification of poplar in mixture. The leaf area is improved to in mixture. Finally root/shoot ratios show different behaviours between species. So, the productivity is enhanced thanks to the introduction of a nitrogen fixing specie.
