Re-annotation des gènes codant les récepteurs de l’immunité chez le peuplier et analyse de leur expression lors de l’interaction avec les champignons biotrophes laccaria bicolor et melampsora larici-populina

Abstract : Plant immune receptors play a key role in the detection of pathogens to trigger plant defense responses in order to contain disease development. Recently, a methodology named Resistance gene enrichment Sequencing was successfully applied to tomato and potato to identify and annotate the repertoire of NB-LRR genes as well as to obtain information about resistance-related polymorphism. Here, we demonstrate the potential of application of this method to the poplar genome through an in silico simulation. For this purpose, the complete set of poplar NB-LRR genes was re-evaluated on the latest poplar genome assembly, showing striking differences compared with data available in literature. Expression profiling of poplar immune receptor genes was also conducted in the context of interaction with two biotrophic fungi using available transcriptomic data. Expression patterns showed a biphasic response in poplar during infection by the fungus responsible for the poplar rust disease. Some genes were also expressed during formation of the ectomycorrhizal symbiosis, suggesting common regulation pathways in the two types of interaction, which now needs to be confirmed.
