Étude du relargage des Composés Aromatiques Polycycliques (CAP) Oxygénés dans le sol vers les eaux souterraines : sélection de codes de calcul pour simuler le transport des CAP Oxygénés et essais de lixiviation en batch

Abstract : Characterization and monitoring of sites contaminated by PAH is generally focused on 16 US EPA PAHs. However, other polycyclic aromatic compounds (PAC) present on these industrial sites, particularly oxygenated PAC. Oxygenated PAC are coming from the same sources than US EPA PAHs, they are more persistent in the environment, their toxicity toward human beings is proved and they are more polar and therefore probably more mobile in soils than US EPA PAHs.. Thus, they represent a risk to humans beings and the environment. The objective of this work was to study the behavior of oxygenated PAC in soils. To do this, at first, a selection of computer codes that can help to simulate oxygenated PAC transport in soils was performed. Then, the release of oxygenated CAP was studied by means of batch leaching tests. The influence of particle size, solid-liquid ratio, ageing of and freezing on the release of oxygenated PAC was investigated. It was concluded that these parameters have significant effects on the mobilization of oxygenated CAP except solid-liquid ratio that play a minor role on the mobilization of these contaminants
