Composition du bois en plantations mélangées d'espèces fixatrices (Acacia mangium) et non fixatrices d'azote (Eucalyptus urograndis) : impact de la ressource en azot

Abstract : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of nitrogen fertilization on the chemical composition of the sapwood of Eucalyptus urograndis. The plant material used comes from the area of Pointe-Noire in Congo. Two samples were collected: September 2010 (end of dry season) and April 2011 (end of the wet season). There are two treatments: pure treatment is 100% Eucalyptus - Eucalyptus urophylla x Eucalyptus grandis (UG) - and combined treatment is a 50% Eucalyptus - 50% Acacia (Acacia mangium). To achieve the goal of our study, an analysis of the chemical composition of the sap of eucalyptus was performed by determining the levels of cellulose, holocellulose, lignin and extractable compounds by various chemical processes. The results show that the availability of nitrogen has no effect on the levels of lignin, cellulose and extractives. The effect from the date on most of the sugars constituting hemicelluloses is significant. However, rhamnose showed a highly significant effect in relation to nitrogen availability that is to say, the combined treatment and a very highly significant effect depending on the date.
