Application de la métabolomique à la mise au point d'un test de détection précoce des résistances aux sulfonylurées par détoxication de l'herbicide

Abstract : The extensive use of sulfonylureas led to the appearance of resistant weeds by pressure of selection. The most important mechanism is the herbicide detoxification by the plant. However, the tests which are developed now cannot predict these resistances in a short time after treatment. Because of the increasing demand of the agrochemical firms to estimate quickly this phenomena, BIOtransfer had the idea to develop an innovating test, by using metabolomics. This technique allows to identify considerable changes in the metabolism, due to adaptive reactions of the plant short times after treatment by a sulfonylurea, which are not visible for resistant individuals. These changes have been studied 1, 2, 4 and 6 days after treatment on two biotypes of Blackgrass (Alopercurus myosuroides), one resistant and one sensible. Two sulfonylureas, mesosulfuron and flupyrsulfuron, have been tested, as well as two methods of culture. The treatment was made either at the three leaf stage or according to the method" Quick-test ", one week after picking out tillaged plants,. The results are very encouraging concerning the method capacity of prediction. It has been shown besides that amino acids could play an important role in this prediction. These results remain nevertheless to be confirmed by analyses including a higher number of repetitions and by testing other biotypes of Blackgrass. Then a protocol adaptation for a routine use in field shoud be envisaged.
