Liens entre tracas de la vie quotidienne à l’âge scolaire et symptômes dépressifs : apports des échelles ISQVE©

Abstract : This study aims to identify the areas of life in the “Child Quality of Life Systemic Inventory” (CQLSI©) (Missotten, Etienne and Dupuis, 2007) most able to report on the problems of daily life at school age. It also aims to verify the predictive value of these problems on the psychological health of children, one year after a first assessment. From this perspective, 106 students in regular schools, aged 8 to 12, answered two questionnaires: the CQLSI© and the CDI. All were met during two interviews a year apart (T1 and T2). The analyses, conducted with the PLS-PM approach, allowed us to focus on seven areas of life in each interview that students perceive as difficult to access, out of the 20 areas of life evaluated in the CQLSI©. These analyses also showed the predictive effect of some problems experienced over a one-year interval. Similarly, these perceived difficulties allowed the prediction of depressive symptoms immediately (in the same assessment period), but not over a one-year interval. The discussion focuses on the interest and importance of more closely examining the areas of life perceived as difficult to access by school-age children to prevent the risk of depressive symptoms.
