Influence de la composition minérale du bois de hêtre sur sa dégradation par Trametes versicolor

Abstract : The chemical composition of wood plays an important role in wood degradation by fungi. Minerals such as manganese, iron and copper act as co-factors in enzymic or non-enzymatic decay processes driven by the fungus. In this work the influence of these three elements on beech wood durability was tested. The metals bioavailibility and their ability to trigger laccase production was investigated in four Trametes versicolor isolates. The results showed that :1) the trace element concentration used had only a small impact on wood decay, the nature of the fungal strain being more determinent. 2) occurrence of mineral in the culture medium enhanced the beech wood decay by the strains isolated on oak wood 3) the laccase production in presence of minerals is strongly dependant of the fungal genotype. Taken together, it suggests that the link between wood mineral content and its durability strongly rely on the fungal strain that colonized the wood.
