Suivi et diagnostic d'une population de sonneurs à ventre jaune (Bombina variegata) en forêt domaniale de Darney (88)

Abstract

he Yellow-bellied toad (Bombina variegata) is a vulnerable species which decreases throughout its distribution area since the beginning of the twentieth century. In fact, this pioneer species lives in small water bodies recently created, often of anthropogenic, such as ruts in forest. Paradoxically, the cause of its decline is linked to this human activity, hence it difficult to develop a management plan and appropriate conservation. In Lorraine, a regional action plan for the protection of the Yellow-bellied toad and temporary aquatic environments began in 2008 for three years. He has been implemented to precise Thus, seven populations are studied, one of which is located in state forest of Darney (Vosges). The monitoring by Capture-Mark-Recapture (CMR) has permitted to identify 1730 animals from the beginning of March 2008 until the end of July 2010 and 1198 this year. The statistical analysis software MARK 5.2 was used to estimate the population (2983 individuals) and various biological parameters such as survival rate (90%) and catch rate (58%). Moreover, a database have been created and some actions are suggested to allow the coexistence of species to human activity in order to maintain the reproduction areas.
