Mesure de conductivité thermique de couches minces inférieure au micron par sonde chauffante en régime transitoire : Analyse de la méthode oméga

Abstract : ln the same time I was looking for a subject for my diploma project, the thermaltransfer team at LEMTA was searching for a new thermal metrology method bound ta measure the thermal conductivity of thin deposits (lower than micron). I joined this project and the team led by the Professor A Degiovanni and Mr Y Jannot. This new system is composed by a hot strip design that is stick on a plate with known thermal properties. This band is heated using a voltage echelon. By measuring the voltage out of the band, we can know the mean temperature at the surface plate/band and deduce the thermal conductivity of the plate. To realize this project, I had to understand and learn first how to solve the fundamental model by the quadrupoles method and realize the numerical and experimental model. The problem in this system is the number of influential parameters on the temperature elevation. A lot of assumptions were made ta simplify the system. Conflicts between the analytical and experimental results lead us to parametric studies. Each parameter must be checked. Most of the time of this project was consumed in order to study the impact of each parameter on the temperature response in order for a reliable model to be realized. The project is designed to measure conductivity for finer materials, but our study was made with a PVC plate 15mm thick. This is why our model can't be 100% valid. The next research about this new method of thermal metrology will aim ta reduce the thick PVC plate and will check the model for a thinner plate.
