Mitigation of the hydrogen risk in fusion facilities: the first experimental results

Abstract

A process eliminating hydrogen in an anaerobic medium which could mitigate the hydrogen risk in a fusion facility has been developed. The principle is based on the reduction of manganese oxides by hydrogen, a reaction that produces inferior oxides and water. In order to determine the kinetics of this reaction, a study is being conducted to identify the parameters of the kinetics by comparing the results provided by the established model with those obtained during the test campaign. This paper presents the first experimental results.
