Composite converter of hybrid storage in distributed renewable energy generation system

Abstract : This paper focuses on a kind of composite converter which is used to connect batteries and super-capacitor in distributed renewable energy generation system. The composite converter can transfer energy in hybrid storage system between batteries and super-capacitor to keep the stability of system when one of them has low or high state of charge (SOC). Also the composite converter can make batteries’ SOC balanced by choosing switches after the batteries in series are used for a long time. Structure and operation principle of composite converter are described in the paper. Also simulation results are shown with Matlab/Simulink.
