Influence d'une micro rupture d'un filtre à particules pour moteurs diesel sur l'efficacité de filtration

Abstract : Diesel particle filter is an effective way of reducing soot particles in the exhaust of diesel engines, but these devices can be damaged, which can lead to particle emissions above the limits. A study was conducted to follow the evolution of filtration efficiency and pressure drop of a ceramic honeycomb filter, depending on the importance of a micro leak created within it, by opening a number of filter channels. The measurements, as well as a modeling of the leakage phenomenon, show that the pressure drop is insufficient for the detection of these micro leaks which result in a significant decrease in efficiency and an increase in the concentrations of soot particles which can exceed the emission limits set by regulations
