Les hydrosystèmes militaires défensifs de Basse-Alsace (XVIIe-XVIIIe siècles)

Abstract : The 17th - 18th centuries are a periods of large displacement of the borders to the East of the kingdom of France. The resistances to this progression are important. In this context are built the defensive military hydrosystems in northern Alsace. They form an original defensive mesh in comparison to settlement of fortified towns established by Vauban. These fortifications of countryside are the result of the geostrategics and geographical analysis by military ingeniors.
