Reliability data banks

Résumé

In reliability applications, a database is a filing system organised and constantly updated to contain data that describe the development of the behaviour of the components of an installation as a function of time(Abdallah). A number of points need to be considered when creating a database. These points for consideration are detailed in this paper. The second section of the paper focuses upon the data in the database, i.e. definition of requirements, collection, processing and validation. The third section deals with the application of databases in the reliability field. The fourth section considers the database as an information system.
