Management of Maintainability Improvement During the Design of Manufacturing Systems
Abstract
One essential mean to reduce the maintenance costs in manufacturing systems relies on maintainability improvement. For new systems and systems to be redesigned, such decisions have to be made at the beginning of the design to ensure that the project exigencies will be satisfied. The same decisions are also necessary after a deep analysis of the maintenance performances for systems in use. The problems of maintainability and reliability allocation and their improvement [1] are addressed in this paper.
