La programmation des films allemands en France dans les années 1960

Abstract : The Second World War and the memory of the nazism restricted significantly the exportation of German films in France after the conflict. The reintroduction of German movies in France happens during the sixties, when more than one hundred German productions entered the French market. We can divide these movies in different genres: crime, spy or adventure, Viennese operetta, drama, erotism or sexual education. This return of German cinema to “normality” allows the French film critics and intellectual audiences of this period to recognize to some of the movies released in France (around 10% of the total) a specific quality, labeled “young German cinema”.
