Magmas et fluides hydrothermaux : relations entre volcanisme et gisements de type épithermal et porphyre

Abstract : In this project, we analysed the volcanisme, the element fractionation during the magrnatic crystallisation, together with the processes controlling the hydrothermal fluid evolution near the surface. The aim of this study was to understand the relations between volcanisme and precious/base metal hydrothermal ore deposits. Our investigations permitted: (1) to evidence a magmatic contributions in the ore forming processes of some epitherrnal deposits of low sulfidation type; (2) to characterize the eruptive activity and the magmatic degassing for some silicic volcanics located in the proximity of some epitherrnal ore deposits ; (3) to elucidate some possible parameters influencing the magmatic-hydrothermal evolution for the porphyry-copper and epithermal systems ; (4) to provide information concerning the physico-chemical characteristics of the ore-fluids and to identifye some critical parameters responsable for the precipitation of metals in the epithermal environment. Different approaches were used in this study, including chemical and isotopic analyses, and microthermometric melt and fluid inclusions studies. Our research was focussed on three volcanic regions reprensenting also three world class gold/polymetallic mining provinces : the Baia Mare district and the Apuseni Mts. in Romania, located in the Carpathian area, and Shila district, Peru situated in the Andean cordila.
