Oxydation à haute température et corrosion par le verre C3 de superalliages base cobalt

Abstract : The numerous fields of application for glass fibres (insulation wool, composite materials) are the consequences of their excellent thermal, phonic and mechanical properties. The topic of this thesis is the study of the hot air oxidation and molten glass corrosion resistance of cobalt base superalloys used as tools for fibres making. By the mean of complementary experimental techniques (alloys elaboration, electrochemical measurements in molten glass, cyclic oxidation tests, thermogravimetric tests and metallographic observations), the understanding of the involveld phenomena was improved. Various parameters were studied : chemical composition changes, role of the different microstructural phases, surface modification of the alloy before and after contact with molten glass. A lifetime increase of the fibres making tool associated to a decrease of its cost were obtained.
