Influence du climat, des facteurs stationnels et de la pollution sur la croissance et l'état sanitaire du sapin pectiné (Abies alba Mill.) dans le Jura. Etude phytoécologique et dendrochronologique

Abstract : During the past two centuries, several episodes of forest dieback have been recorded in Europe. In the early 1980s forest decline increased worryingly, which suggested that new factors were involved. In 1983, many studies were initiated within the French programme DEFORPA (Forest Decline and Air Pollution). Dendroecology, combining ecological and dendrochronological methods can be used to assess the impact of pollution and climate on tree radial growth. Initial works with silver fir in the Vosges mountains, where the soils are usually very acidic, showed a large climatic influence on health and radial growth, especially during periods of drought. This study examined the same species but in the Jura mountains (French/Swiss border) where calcareous soils are dominant.
