Généralisation et optimisation de la fabrication d'un composite biomasse végétale-ciment à variations dimensionnelles limitées vis-à-vis des variations de l'humidité

Abstract : Earlier experimental research with a Vosges fir/cement composite produced the following properties: a) Density lower than 1200 kg/ cubic meter b) Crushing strengh higher than 4 MegaPascal c) Dimensional variations, within the French Norm, for light concrete, i.e., lower than 1 mm/m. The research was developed to optimize four phases of the fabrication process: a) Elimination of the substances that restrict hydration of the concrete (hot water rinse 80°C-2 hours) b) Treatment of the interface vegetal particles (bituminous solution 10%) c) Addition of mineral charges and/or cement additives d) Cure of specimens after fabrication The desired period of dimensional stability is taken to be very long to motivate industrial interest. In this way, a time reduction is achieved through the carbonation treatment or to obtain the minimum phases of shrinkage and swelling. The research has shown that is not possible to obtain an optimum result, however it is obvious that shrinkage and swelling phase's can be limited to obtain better dimensional stability of the specimens.
