Étude et caractérisation de l'usure de revêtement de sol à base de PVC : caractérisation des défauts consécutifs aux conditions réelles d'utilisation et aux simulations en laboratoire

Abstract : Presently, when the resilient floor covering industry wants to test the wear resistance of its products following existing standards, an important discrepancy appears between the real constraints the flooring will have to endure and the standardized ones. These tests can lead to erroneous conclusions. The main objective here is to achieve a better understanding of the product tribology, in order to help the standardisation process. We study the aesthetic and topographical evolutions of two PVC-based resilient floor coverings, with and without an elastomeric protective coating, during three different tests (field test / Frick Taber / lisson). Thanks to a topographical approach of pure abrasion, the Ek vs. Sk approach, we are able to highlight some of the basic damage processes occurring during these tests. ln addition, a first-order analysis of the tested flooring mechanical behaviour, via nanoscratch experiments.
