Etude de la diffusion et de l'équilibre de sorption de corps purs dans des polymères : application à des systèmes utilisés en pervaporation

Abstract : The diffusion of vapors in polymers is an important phenomenom in the permeation through permselective membranes or through packaging films. In this work, we investigated the use of a microbalance ( electromagnetic coupling Sartorius microbalance, model 4201) in the determination of vapor sorption isotherms and kinetics in polymers. The first part reviewes the fundamentals of diffusion in polymers in the transient regime. In the second part, the experimental set-up and the feability of such a measurement technique were studied. In the third part, the sorption properties of cellulose acetate, cellulose nitrate in water, ethanol and methanol vapors of different activities and of poly(vinylalcohol) at different cristallinity in water and ethanol, were studied by means of models developped in the fundamental part. The same part deals with the sorption of water vapors in crosslinked polyesters of different structures. The influence of the chemical structure on sorption and diffusion properties was evidenced
