Nouvelles membranes polyurétaneimides cationomères à hautes performances pour la séparation de mélanges organiques par pervaporation :

Abstract : This work is a first fundamental analysis of the influence of quaternary ammonium sites on the selective permeability of polymeric materials toward organic liquid mixtures. A new synthesis approach allowed obtaining three families of polyurethaneimide cationomers with a great variability and control of their structure. The corresponding membranes were used for the separation by pervaporation of the polar azeotropic mixture Ethanol/Ethyl-tert-butyl ether (20/80 wt%) and the non polar mixture Toluene/n-Heptane (20/80 wt%). The results led to a set of original relationships between the polymeric material structure and their properties, with sharper effects for the polar mixture. By playing with the structure of the cationic sites, it was then possible to increase permeability without modifying selectivity. Thus, an original feature of several of these polymeric materials was that they enabled to overcome the usual flux/selectivity duality
