L'informatique, une displine dans les DEUG scientifiques à partir d'une expérience pédagogique à l'Université de Metz

Abstract : This thesis aims to present suggestions on how to teach computer sciences, based on my teaching experience (particulary in first and second year courses). Clearly, at this level, computer science should be taugh with a thoroughly scientific approach so as to facilitate the students' choices regarding their academic future. The main purpose is to show students how to analyse problems. Thus backbone of our teaching is the algorithms. In order to make them construct the right algorithms, they are provided with a framework that helps them to reason correctly (logics, recurrent relationships, schemata, functional analysis...) Also stressed is the use of : a functional and abstract style (linear list...), though action-orientad style is also considered ; recursiveness, since the help affored by the theorem of recursiveness is more easily accepted by students than the use of invariants when proving iteraive algorithms
