Les systèmes cellulaires de production : l'agencement inter-cellules

Abstract : The aim of this thesis is to examine the cellular manufacturing systems layout design problem. We start by introducing the concept of cellular manufacturing systems. Then, we describe the four steps approach proposed for the layout design of this kind of systems. We introduce the first three steps (data pre- processing, cell design and intra-cell layout design) and provide the methods which are used. We dedicate the second part of this thesis to the fourth step, namely the inter-cell layout design. The goal is to find a layout which minimizes the sum of the products (flow x distance) between the inputs/outputs of the cells, with respect to some physical constraints. This combinatorial problem is solved using an iterative method based on the simulated annealing. For that porpose, we have to compute the lengths of the shortest paths between the inputs/outputs of the cells. Two algorithms are proposed. At the end of this second part, we introduce the dynamic layout design concept and define its fields of application. The third part is devoted to the software
