L'image de la Pologne dans la grande presse française de 1919 à 1939

Abstract : The following dissertation paper deals with the evolution of the image of Poland as developed by the French press between 1918 and 1939. It is an opinion study based on the various ideas proper to the most distinguished journalists, politicians as well as writers of that period of time. The consulted sources are mainly newspapers, periodicals, autobiographies and several other publications manifest by representative of the French conservative attitude towards Poland. Have been more specifically studied newspapers under moderate or light wing control, papers such Le Temps, Le Petit Paisien, Le Journal des Débats, Le Figaro, La Croix, and L'Action Française. More radical dailies like L'Humanité, Le Populaire and L'Oeuvre have also been taken into account. A quantitative analysis of the polish presence within the columns of the Temps, Le Figaro, and Les Débats has ultimately been added. This annexed statistical study precisely and chronologically presents the actual place occupied by Poland in the French press of time.
