Adaptabilité stratégitaire dans la résolution des cubes de Kohs

Abstract : The main objectives of this study are : a) to increase the explanatory theory of the block design test which is a well-known indicator of human intelligence ; b) to develop a specific method of collecting and processing data that allows to analize the strategies of individuals who solve items of the block design test ; c) to explain the inter- and intra-individual strategies. The results of this study are : a) the difficulty of the configurations is mainly determined by three perceptive indicators, the quantity of information (defined by the number of one and two-colored blocks), the perceptive cohesion (defined by the juxtaposition of blocks) and the intra-figural redundancy (defined by the repetition of identical blocks) ; b) the creation of a method for strategy analysis enabling the determination of a degree of similarity between different strategies and with the most general analytical strategy ; c) the strategies depend on the perceptive characteristics of items and there are differences between individuals (which are independent of cognitive ability) ; d) the existence of an intra-individual strategy-choice adaptation which contributes to task performance ; e) differences in strategy-choice behavior for the same person solving equivalent tasks.
