Les abréviations écrites et les procédés d'abrègement

Abstract : The study of production and restoration of written abbreviations allows observing the importance of the morphological structure of words in the abridgement processes. The elaboration of an abridgement pattern discloses the negative effect of the presence of a prefix and the positive effect of the presence of a suffix on the abridgement frequency for affixed words. Prospects appear about the study of lexical access for affixed words, the study of abbreviations in verbal context, the study of teaching application for abridgement and the exploitation of a pattern of automatic abridgement.
