Abstract : It is a common thing when authorities speak about the necessity of granting a protection to the consumer, they only consider consumer protection as a problem of the developed countries. But in the states of the third world such as Burkina Faso, consumers need more protection. Given some factors (illiteracy, ignorance, food insufficiency, low incomes), the consumers of those countries are more vulnerable. We are aware that the intention to protect consumers is a certainty, but we are also obliged to acknowledge that the implementation of some legal dispositions in favor of consumers is not easy due to the various factors we mentioned previously. Moreover we can notice that the state of underdevelopment of a country leads authorities when they intend to take some protective measures benefiting the consumer, to take into consideration the eventual financial impact on the economic level.
